Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 4 chicken schnitzels
  • 10 tbsp dried Italian herbs
  • 4 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 4 tbsp paprika powder, rose hot
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 6 m.-sized potatoes
  • ½ liter meat broth
  • 2 glasses of red wine
  • 2 onions

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel and dice the potatoes, dice the tomatoes, and finely chop the onions. Mix the herbs with olive oil and rub them into the chicken schnitzels. Then brown the schnitzels in a casserole dish with a glass lid. Briefly fry the onions in the same pan with the crushed garlic, then add the tomatoes and potatoes. Mix the meat broth with the two glasses of red wine and fill the casserole dish. Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes, until the potatoes are cooked through. Season to taste with salt and pepper. If desired, you can also stir in sour cream or crème fraîche, or thicken the sauce if the sauce is too thin.
