Italian meat rolls with basil and tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced pork
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g Parmesan, grated
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 1 bunch parsley or 1 tbsp chopped thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 pack of tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp wine (Martini)
  • 1 bunch of basil
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Oil (olive oil) for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

For the sauce, heat a little olive oil in a pan and fry the finely diced onion until golden brown, then add a clove of garlic. Add the passata and season with salt and pepper. Let the sauce simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Season to taste with sugar and martini. Finally, add the chopped basil. Place the minced meat, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, finely chopped parsley, and a crushed garlic clove in a bowl with salt and pepper and knead well. With wet hands, form meat rolls with a diameter of 3 cm and fry in hot olive oil until golden brown on all sides. Place the rolls in a preheated shallow dish, drizzle with the tomato sauce, and bake in the oven at 80 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. Serve with green tagliatelle.
