Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 roll
  • Water for soaking
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 600 g minced beef
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • chili powder
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 300g mozzarella
  • 3 tsp pesto (basil pesto) from the jar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Soak the bread roll in water, squeeze out excess water, and tear it into small pieces. Peel and finely chop the onion. Knead the bread roll, onion, minced meat, and tomato paste together. Season the mixture with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Form 8 meatballs. Bake on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for 35 minutes. Wash the tomatoes, slice them with the mozzarella, and place them on the meatballs and bake for a further 5 minutes. Drizzle with the pesto.
