Italian tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g tomatoes (plum tomatoes)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 stalk(s) celery
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 6 basil leaves
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Peel and dice the tomatoes. Heat the oil in a pan, dice the onion and celery, and sauté. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, and bay leaf. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat. Add the basil, season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Add the crème fraîche and simmer for another 5 minutes.
