heavenly crispy and spicy

First, preheat the oven to 180°C and line two baking sheets with baking paper. For the dough, briefly beat the butter and egg with the sugar, salt, and spices. Then slowly stir or knead the flour into the mixture. You may need a little more water to create a smooth (not too soft!) dough. You can now roll out this dough evenly, for example, between two sheets of plastic wrap (a cut-open plastic bag) using two wooden sticks, and then cut out Christmas shapes. Then bake the cookies for about 10 minutes, depending on how thin and large you cut them. They taste delicious both flat and slightly more compact. They don’t look as impressive, however. If you like, you can sprinkle a few flaked almonds or some rock candy or something similar on the cookies before baking.
