Kaffeeluder's salmon and apple rösti

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar creamed horseradish
  • 2 apples, sour, 1x grated, 1x in 12 slices
  • 6 large potatoes, floury (Bintje), grated
  • 1 onion(s), grated
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp margarine
  • 200 g smoked salmon
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • possibly dill

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Mix the creamed horseradish with the grated apple and chill. Squeeze the potato wedges well and mix them with the onions and eggs. Season well. Heat the margarine and fry 12 rösti. Pour the batter into the pan and top each with an apple slice. Press firmly and fry over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Turn over and fry for another 2-3 minutes. Arrange 3 rösti on each plate and serve with salmon and horseradish. Garnish with dill, if desired.
