Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g kale, fresh or frozen
  • 200 g smoked pork
  • 300 g sausage (cabbage sausage or mettenden)
  • 125 g pearl barley
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 2 bowls of pure bouillon (vegetable)
  • 2 tbsp goose fat
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter, for frying
  • 3 tbsp mustard
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

with smoked pork, mettenden, potatoes and pearl barley, in a pressure cooker

Finely dice the onions and sauté in clarified butter. Cut the smoked pork, cabbage sausage, and potatoes into small, bite-sized cubes. Add everything to the pressure cooker and stir. It’s important to add the mustard right away! Bring to a boil (2 rings) and let stand on the turned-off heat for about 30 minutes. Season to taste with Maggi, if desired.
