Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g bread(s) (dumpling bread)
- ¼ liter milk, hot
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pepper, ground
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 onion(s), chopped
- 200 g cheese (grey cheese), finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Clarified butter or oil for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Pour the hot milk over the dumpling bread. Mix thoroughly and let stand for about 20 minutes. In the meantime, saute the onion in the melted butter until translucent. Let cool slightly and knead into the bread mixture along with the eggs, parsley, salt and pepper, and the finely chopped gray cheese. Let the mixture stand for another 10 minutes. Form dumplings, flatten them, and fry them in hot clarified butter or oil. Serve with sauerkraut or salad. Kaspressknödel also taste delicious in a real beef broth. Cut the fried dumplings into strips and top with the clear broth. Tip: Serve with melted butter and Parmesan cheese.
