Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 2 slices of smoked pork (roast)
- 1 small can of mushrooms or vegetables of your choice
- 4 potatoes, boiled
- 1 slice(s) of bread
- e.g. cream
- salt and pepper
- possibly herbs
- 1 tbsp cheese, grated
- Sauce (Kasseler sauce), if available
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Drain the mushrooms. Dice the smoked pork and bread. Slice the potatoes from the previous day. Place the smoked pork in a casserole dish. Scatter the mushrooms over the meat. Alternatively, you can of course use a can of peas or other vegetables. It all depends on what you have in your pantry and what suits your taste. Sprinkle the diced bread on top. Again, just choose according to your taste. It can be quite stale. Then place the potatoes on top and season. Mix the remaining smoked pork sauce with the cream and herbs and pour over the meat. If there is no sauce left, simply season with a little more cream. The ingredients should not float, but be well moistened. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Preheat the oven and bake the casserole at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25-30 minutes.
