Kissinger Christmas cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g flour
  • 300 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 250 g sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g margarine
  • 1 pack of nougat
  • 1 pack of marzipan
  • e.g. apricot jam

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 40 minutes

according to a recipe from my great aunt, filled with nougat and marzipan

Using the above ingredients, except for the nougat, marzipan, and apricot jam, make a nice dough and refrigerate overnight. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 4 to 5 mm (1/4 to 2/32 inch) and cut out squares, circles, or flowers. Bake the cookies at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, taking care not to overcook them. After baking, let the cookies cool completely. To fill the cookies, spread apricot jam on each cookie and place a thin slice of nougat or marzipan on top. To help the cookies stick better, spread a little apricot jam on the nougat or marzipan and place a second cookie on top. Decorate the Kissinger cookies with white icing, pistachios, and walnuts, if desired.
