Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g butter or margarine
- 800 g brown sugar
- 200 g sugar (granulated sugar)
- 10 tbsp water
- 400 g flour
- 8 tsp cinnamon
- 500 g peanuts, chopped, unroasted and unsalted
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes
Dutch sugar pastry with peanuts
Mix the butter, sugar, and granulated sugar until the dough has a fluffy consistency. Add the water, cinnamon, salt, and sifted flour and mix well. Stir in the peanuts. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Using two teaspoons, scoop out small heaps of the mixture and place them 10 cm apart on the baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200-210°C (top/bottom heat) or 180-190°C (fan oven) for about 6-8 minutes, until the cookies have melted and are lightly dark brown. Remove the cookies, including the baking paper, and place them on a flat surface to cool. Repeat until all the dough is used up.
