Kohlrabi – Beetroot Turrets

The perfect kohlrabi – beetroot turrets recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Pc. Kohlrabi fresh
  • 1 packet Beetroot cooked, vacuum packed
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh thyme
  • Honey balsamic

Preparation for turret construction

  1. Peel the kohlrabi and cut into slices (approx. 1 cm) and then blanch them for 1 min in boiling salted water and immediately rinse in cold water. Take the beetroot out of the packaging and rinse (rubber gloves) then cut them into slices (approx. 1 cm). Make a dressing from vinegar and oil, salt and pepper. Pluck the thyme and add to the dressing, beat again.

Tower construction

  1. Now you layer alternately kohlrabi and beetroot and drizzle a little of the dressing between each layer. Finally, let the dressing run over it again and place the thyme as a decoration.
  1. As a side dish for grilling, it is a great alternative to salad.
