Kohlrabi Burger
The perfect kohlrabi burger recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 size Kohlrabi fresh
- 2 Kohlrabi leaves
- 70 g Grated cheese
- 6 small slices Tomato (alternatively 2 large ones)
- 1 middle Onion
- 300 g Ground beef
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tbsp Mustard
- Pepper salt
- Oil for frying
- Remove the leaves from the kohlrabi. 2 beautiful keep.
- Peel the kohlrabi thinly, cut in half crosswise and cook in well-salted water together with the leaves (but not too soft). Take out of the water, drain and let cool down.
- Meanwhile prepare the burger meatballs: Cut 2/3 of the onion into cubes. Put the rest in a few rings. Keep these. Knead the mince, egg, mustard, diced onion, pepper and salt well and form 2 large, flat meatballs. They can be bigger than the kohlrabi halves. Fry both in oil until cross, but not completely through. Take out of the pan and save.
- Lightly hollow out all 4 halves and fill with 2/3 of the grated cheese. On 2 of the 4 halves, press a hollowed-out hemisphere with the curve down into the cheese. Place a kohlrabi leaf and a patty on top. Then spread the tomato slices and onion rings over it and cover everything with the 2. kohlrabi halves filled with cheese. Sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheese on top and fix the “entire structure” with a wooden skewer.
- Then bake the “burgers” in the oven at 200 ° for approx. 30 minutes and serve immediately.
- We had a creamy mashed potato for a nest. Good Appetite………
