Kohlrabi from Steamer Insert

The perfect kohlrabi from steamer insert recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 Kohlrabi with green
  • Kohlrabi leaves chopped
  • 1 portion Hollandaise sauce
  • 1 Steam insert
  • 1 Cup Water
  1. Wash, peel and cut the kohlrabi into even sticks. Free the tender leaves from the hard central ribs and then finely chop them.
  2. Fill the kohlrabi sticks into a steamer insert, place it in a saucepan and pour a cup of water over it. Bring to the boil with the lid on and cook for about 15 minutes – now the vegetables cook in the steam of the boiling water. I recommend a cooking test: the pens should be done, but still retain a bit of “bite”, because that’s how they taste best.
  3. Prepare the hollandaise and fold in the chopped kohlrabi leaves. Pour the vegetables into a preheated serving bowl and add the herb hollandaise sauce. I served it with jacket potatoes and breaded chicken schnitzel.
  4. Note 4: this vegetable prepared in this way tastes unexpectedly good, although it does not contain any spices. Give it a try! I wish a good appetite”
