Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg chicken breast fillet(s)
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder
  • Flour
  • baking powder
  • Paprika powder
  • chili powder
  • Thyme
  • 10 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 small piece(s) of ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp sugar, brown, fine grain
  • 4 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp chili paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Cut the chicken breast fillets into pieces and marinate them in buttermilk with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Then coat them in a coating of flour, baking powder, paprika, chili powder, salt, pepper, and thyme. Deep-fry in batches. For the sauce, bring soy sauce, a small piece of ginger, the garlic, brown sugar, sesame oil, honey, and chili paste to a boil. Drizzle the sauce over the fried chicken. Serve with rice.
