Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g spelt flour
  • 100 g raw cane sugar
  • 6 eggs, organic
  • 1 tbsp cream of tartar baking powder or baking soda
  • 1 jar coconut oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

goes quickly

Crack the eggs and beat with the sugar until frothy. Add the baking powder and flour and mix into a dough – my food processor took care of that. Heat the coconut oil in a suitable saucepan and then, using two spoons, drop a little of the batter from the spoon into the hot oil and fry. Don’t fry too many at once as the little shrimp will turn over on their own. Remove them with a slotted spoon, grease them on kitchen paper and then place them in a bowl and sprinkle with icing sugar – it was a surprise and they were gobbled up in no time 🙂 The strangest shapes emerge when they are fryed. We had a lot of fun and everyone discovered a different animal in them. It was a lovely coffee time with really lovely people.
