Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 250 g sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • Vegetable oil for frying, approx. 1 liter

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 minutes; Total time approx. 31 minutes

Mix the eggs, sour cream, quark, and sugar. Then add the flour and baking powder and knead into a firm dough. Mix the sugar and vanilla sugar together and heat the oil. Fill a tablespoon 2/3 full with batter. It’s best to cut off the edge and then use a fork or another spoon to scrape it into the hot oil. The doughnuts will expand in the oil, so you’ll have to figure out the right size for each one. After about 2-3 minutes, turn them over with a fork and fry for another 2-3 minutes. Then remove them with a ladle and let them drain slightly on a kitchen towel. Roll them in the sugar while they’re still hot.
