Leftover schnitzel casserole

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 breaded schnitzel, left over from the day before
  • 150 g pasta, cooked, from the day before
  • some gravy, remaining
  • 80g mozzarella
  • ½ bell pepper(s), red
  • some butter for greasing

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

remaining breaded schnitzel, finely packaged

Cut the cold, breaded schnitzel left over from the day before into bite-sized strips. Slice half a bell pepper into strips. Grease a small casserole dish with butter and first layer the cooked, cold pasta. Arrange the schnitzel strips on top, add the bell pepper strips, drizzle with some of the remaining cream or gravy, and top with mozzarella slices. Bake in the lower third of the oven preheated to 220°C for a good 25 minutes. This leftover casserole can be expanded, modified, and added to in many ways, depending on what you have in the fridge. You don’t need any additional seasonings, as everything is already flavorful. The cheese simply rounds it all off, giving the schnitzel a whole new flavor.
