Lentil seitan steaks with carrots

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 50 g flour (gluten flour)
  • 50 g lentil flour
  • ½ onion(s), finely grated
  • 1 carrot(s), finely grated
  • 1 tbsp miso paste
  • Soy sauce
  • 30 g oil
  • 1 tsp gyro seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 50 ml broth
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Combine all ingredients, except the broth, and mix thoroughly. Add the broth and knead well. Let rest for 20 minutes. Divide the dough into three portions and form steaks approximately 0.8 cm thick. Place in a pan with hot oil and fry. The steaks will initially be soft, but the longer you fry them, the firmer and crispier they will become.
