Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g lentils
  • ¾ liter of water
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 leek(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp meat broth, clear, instant
  • Red wine, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Swabian specialty

Sort the lentils. Pour water into the pressure cooker, add oil, tomato paste, and vinegar. Add the prepared, finely diced carrot and leek, bring to a boil, then add the lentils. Stir once and close the pressure cooker. Cooking time: 18-20 minutes. After cooking, let the pressure cooker cool and then open it. Sprinkle the spices and instant meat broth over the top and season the lentils with wine, if desired. This dish goes well with spaetzle and sausages, which can be warmed in a water bath or in the lentils.
