  • 80 g powdered sugar

  • Walnut kernels

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 45 minutes

filled with marzipan

Knead all the dough ingredients into a smooth dough and wrap in cling film and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, knead the marzipan, egg yolk, and powdered sugar. Form them into small balls. Don’t make too large balls, as the marzipan will expand during baking. Take small portions of the dough, flatten them, wrap each one around a marzipan ball, and shape them into balls. Place these on baking sheets lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees Celsius (convection oven) for about 15-20 minutes. Allow to cool. Make a glaze from powdered sugar, water, and bitter almond flavoring and decorate the cookies with it. Place a walnut on top of each cookie. Tip: If you like, you can make the glaze using powdered sugar and nut liqueur or rum instead of water.
