Macaroons for Valentine's Day

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 egg whites, class L
  • 130 g sugar
  • 45 ml liqueur (Black Raspberry liqueur)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp Amaretto
  • 340 g coconut flakes
  • 60 g wheat flour type 405

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 18 minutes; Total time approx. 28 minutes

makes approx. 48 pieces

Preheat the oven to 160°C fan/convection oven and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the egg whites, sugar, liqueur, salt, and Amaretto. In a separate large mixing bowl, combine the coconut flakes and flour, then stir in the egg white mixture. Drop the mixture onto the prepared baking sheets using a tablespoon, spaced 5cm apart. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the tops are light brown. Remove the macarons from the parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container. Makes approximately 48 macarons.
