Magdeburger sizzling sandwich

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 slices of bread (seedless or toasted bread)
  • 2 slice(s) Gouda or Emmental or other semi-hard cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • e.g. ketchup
  • e.g. margarine for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Bratschnitzel, quick, tasty, but filling dinner

Melt some margarine in a pan and add the slices of bread to fry. When the bottom side is golden brown, turn them over and reduce the heat to prevent the other side from burning. Spread a dollop of ketchup on each slice. Place a slice of semi-hard cheese on top, making sure the cheese doesn’t extend over the slices. Place an egg in the center of the semi-hard cheese and then carefully spread it over the entire slice (so to speak, enveloping the slices in the egg). Now carefully turn each slice to cook the egg and enclose the cheese, which will then melt deliciously inside. When the egg is cooked through (there will be no more goo), carefully turn the slices over again and plate up. Serve with a fresh salad of your choice.
