Ginger oil is often used as a massage oil or as a bath additive. For example, if you rub it into your scalp every day, it should also help against hair loss.

  • To make 250ml of ginger oil, you will need this amount of carrier oil. Good olive oil is just as suitable as jojoba oil.
  • You will also need 100g of fresh ginger.
  • You need a grater as well as a saucepan.
  • The brew is strained over a fine-meshed sieve.
  • Last but not least, you will need a dark glass bottle to store the ginger oil.

How to make ginger oil yourself

As already mentioned in the first section, ginger oil is usually not used internally, but rather for external treatment.

  • First, peel the ginger and grate it into the pot.
  • Add the oil and mix the two ingredients together thoroughly.
  • Now the mixture needs to simmer at a low temperature for about two hours. Alternatively, place the pot in the oven at 60 degrees for two hours.
  • Then fill the finished ginger oil through the sieve into the clean, dark glass bottle and close it tightly. You cannot reuse the strained ginger.
  • The ginger oil now has to mature in the bottle for two weeks before it can be used. If you keep it cool, it will keep for about half a year.
  • Note: Ginger oil can cause skin irritation in some people due to the active ingredient gingerol it contains. So first test the oil on a small area of ​​skin to see if you tolerate it.
