More and more people are turning to plant-based milk alternatives. Hazelnut milk is a vegan variant that you can make yourself from just a few ingredients.
Make hazelnut milk yourself – a simple recipe
For one liter of hazelnut milk, you need 80 grams of hazelnuts, 1 teaspoon of sugar (alternatively a pitted date), 1 liter of water, and 1 cheesecloth or nut milk bag.
- Place all ingredients in a high-power blender. Blend everything on high for two minutes.
- Then strain the nut puree through the cheesecloth or nut milk bag.
- Then fill the milk into a sterilized glass bottle or a sufficiently large glass with a screw cap.
- The freshly made nut milk will keep in the fridge for a maximum of three days. So use them up as soon as possible.
- Tip: If your blender isn’t strong enough, it can help to soak the nuts in water overnight beforehand, or use hazelnut butter instead of the whole nuts.
