Make Twix Yourself

The perfect make twix yourself recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Cookies:

  • 180 g Flour
  • 120 g Butter
  • 0,5 tsp Salt
  • 60 g Sugar

Caramel Layer:

  • 300 g Cow candy
  • 1 tbsp Cream

Chocolate Coat:

  • 250 g Couverture whole milk
  • 20 g Cocoa butter or coconut fat

Cookies:

  1. Knead all ingredients into an elastic dough. Then roll it out between 2 layers of baking paper about 3 mm thin and cut into rectangles of 7 x 5-2 cm. Place them at a distance on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and prick several times with a fork.
  2. Preheat the oven to 150 °. Put the tray in the middle of the oven and bake the biscuits for 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown. Incl. Let the baking paper cool on a rack.

Caramel:

  1. During this, put the cream and the slightly crushed candy in a saucepan and melt both while stirring constantly. When a creamy mixture has formed, put a layer approx. 2 mm thick on each biscuit. It has to be a bit quick, as the caramel sets quickly. Otherwise it has to be warmed up again and again.

Chocolate Coat:

  1. Melt the couverture and cocoa butter in a bowl over a double boiler. First brush the underside of the biscuits with a little couverture using a brush and place on the baking paper. Then pour the couverture over all of the couverture with a spoon and coat them that way. After the couverture has hardened, straighten any ruffled edges with a sharp knife.
  2. A small treat that not only tastes good to the “dwarfs” …….. also goes well with a cup of coffee ………..
