Mallorcan Mussels

The perfect mallorcan mussels recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 75 Pc. Fresh mussels
  • 5 Pc. Tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Soak the mussels. Use scissors to cut off the seaweed on the mussels. Dispose of open mussels!
  2. Heat the olive oil with the bay leaves in a tall saucepan. Put the clean mussels in the pan.
  3. Halve the tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Place on the mussels. Close the pot with a lid.
  4. Cook / steam the mussels until they open.
  5. Place the tomatoes on a plate and drain the mussels.
  6. Spread the mussels on plates. Dispose of clams that are still closed !! Garnish with the steamed tomato halves.
