  • 150 g tofu, plain or baked
  • 0.33 stalk(s) Lemongrass
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce, light
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • e.g. soybean oil or coconut oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 14 minutes

simple and very tasty

Cut the chili pepper and lemongrass into rings, dice the peeled garlic into small cubes, and cut the tofu into bite-sized pieces. For the marinade, first crush the garlic cubes and chili rings in a mortar and pestle, add the lemongrass, and continue crushing. Now add the remaining ingredients. Pour the marinade into a freezer bag and add the tofu. Tie the bag shut so the marinade can distribute evenly, and marinate the tofu in it for an hour. Then fry the tofu in soy or coconut oil over medium heat for about 4 minutes. I like to use the tofu with Thai curry or, more traditionally, with flat rice noodles with vegetables.
