Marzipan coins

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g marzipan paste
  • 250 g butter
  • 120 g powdered sugar
  • 320 g flour
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp almonds, ground
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50 g almond(s), chopped
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely grate the marzipan and knead it with the butter, powdered sugar, and flour to form a smooth dough. Form it into two rolls about 4 cm in diameter, wrap in foil, and chill for about 1 hour. Mix the sugar and ground almonds. Whisk 1 egg yolk, brush the dough rolls with it, and coat them in the sugar mixture. Cut into approximately 5 mm thick slices and place on baking sheets lined with baking paper. Press the chopped almonds onto the cookies. Whisk 1 egg yolk with the milk and brush the cookies with it. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for about 15 minutes.
