Marzipan semolina pudding

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 750 ml milk
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 75 g durum wheat semolina
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Sweet main course

Coarsely grate the marzipan. Heat the milk with vanilla sugar, add the marzipan, and dissolve it in the hot milk. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat. Stir in the semolina while stirring, bring to a boil briefly, and let stand for five minutes. Meanwhile, separate the egg and beat the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the sugar. Whisk the egg yolks and mix with 2 tablespoons of the semolina pudding. Stir into the semolina pudding, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Serve with cinnamon sugar, grated chocolate, or compote, if desired.
