Marzipan shortbread

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 200 g butter, soft
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • ½ packet vanilla sugar (bourbon)
  • 100 g marzipan – raw mass
  • ½ pack flavoring (Finesse orange fruit)
  • 3 tbsp chocolate shavings
  • 100 g cake icing (whole milk)

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Knead the dough ingredients together, divide in half, and form two approximately 25 cm long rolls on two cut-open freezer bags. Press a hollow lengthwise into the rolls using the handle of a wooden spoon. Knead the marzipan, orange fruit, and grated chocolate. Form two rolls of approximately 25 cm length. Place the marzipan in each hollow and seal the dough over the marzipan, forming a square using the foil (you may want to place it in the freezer for half an hour). Cut into approximately 1 cm wide slices and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes. Melt the icing according to the package instructions. Place the shortbread tightly together on a piece of baking paper and let it cool slightly. Spread stripes of icing over the shortbread.
