Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 50 g butter
  • 125 ml milk
  • 100 ml cream
  • Gravy or cream sauce, homemade or made from 1 gravy cube

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Peel the potatoes and boil them in a pot of salted water. Drain the water from the potatoes. Then place the potatoes in a potato ricer or spaetzle press and press them through into the saucepan. Add hot milk, cream, and butter to the mashed potatoes and whisk until creamy. Add more or less milk depending on whether you prefer the mashed potatoes to be thinner or runnier. You can decide how you want to prepare the sauce. You can either make it yourself or prepare a sauce cube according to the package instructions. Then pour the mash onto a plate and smooth the outside, hollow out the inside, and pour in the sauce. Your delicious mashed potato volcano is ready!
