for the meatballs:

  • 500 g Mixed minced meat
  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • 1 Pc. Egg
  • 60 g Breadcrumbs
  • Salt pepper
  • Sweet paprika powder

for the sauce:

  • 3 Pc. Paprika, different colors
  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • 125 ml Vegetable broth
  • 3 tbsp Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Food starch
  • Sunflower oil
  1. For the meatballs, peel the onion and dice it finely. Mix with all other ingredients in a bowl and knead briefly. Shape the mixture into small balls with moistened hands.
  2. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the balls all around for about 10 minutes on all sides.
  3. For the sauce, peel the onion and cut into fine half rings. Cut the bell pepper into strips or cubes. Sauté the onion and bell pepper in the heated oil in a pan for a few minutes. Sweat the tomato paste in it, then add the vegetable stock. Bring to the boil, then turn down to medium heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the ketchup and season the sauce with salt, pepper and paprika powder. Mix the cornstarch with a little water, stir into the sauce and bring to the boil. Finally, add the meatballs to the sauce and heat them up. If you like, you can add some freshly chopped parsley.
  5. This fits e.g. rice or pasta.
