Meatloaf with cheese filling

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 roll, from the day before
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Salt
  • ½ tsp mustard, medium hot
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda)
  • Butter, for the mold
  • 1 tsp, heaped herbs of Provence

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Soak the bread rolls in cold water and squeeze out excess moisture. Rinse the parsley and pat dry, tear the leaves from the stems, and chop finely. Mix the minced meat with the egg, bread rolls, and parsley. Season well with salt, mustard, pepper, and nutmeg. Cut the cheese into thick strips. Form the meat dough into an oblong loaf. Place the cheese strips in the center and enclose them with the meat dough. Place the meat loaf in a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with herbs. Roast for approximately 1 hour in a preheated oven at 190°C.
