  • Rosemary, optional

Simple, delicious, decorative

The day before, deseed the melons and scoop out the melon balls using a melon baller. Place them in a bowl. Mix with lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey, cover, and chill. Mix the balsamic vinegar with salt, pepper, and the remaining honey, season to taste, and whisk in the oil. You can also finely chop the rosemary and mix it into the dressing. Soak about 20 wooden skewers in cold water. Finely slice the basil and drain the mozzarella. Alternate melon pieces, mozzarella, some ham, and 1 tomato on each skewer. Place on a platter or shallow dish, drizzle with the dressing, and sprinkle with basil. For vegetarians, omit the ham. The skewers taste delicious and make a decorative addition to a buffet.
