Melon salad with avocado, papaya, cucumber and mint

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 melon(s) (watermelon)
  • 2 avocados
  • 1 large papaya, or 2 small ones
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 1 bunch mint, fresh
  • 3 limes, the juice
  • e.g. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • e.g. sea salt
  • n. B. Pepper, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel the melon, papaya, and avocado, remove the seeds, and cut into large cubes. Peel the cucumber and cut into equal-sized cubes. Place everything in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix the squeezed lime juice with salt, pepper, sugar, and olive oil. Just before serving, pour this over the salad and mix gently. Serve garnished with fresh mint leaves. The salad can also be prepared well in advance. Important: If it is to be refrigerated for several hours, do not add salt, as this will make the salad watery. Simply marinate with lime juice and oil, then add the spices and mix well before eating. Great as a grilled side dish, for example, with shrimp skewers or chicken. Also ideal as a starter or dessert.
