Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 2 bags of yeast (dry yeast)
- 200 g processed cheese
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 600 g flour
- 100 g butter or margarine
- 1 bag of soup (onion soup)
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Using a hand mixer, mix the yeast with 250 ml of lukewarm water, the cheese, sugar, and salt. Then attach the dough hook and add the flour. Knead the dough until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Mix the softened fat and onion soup powder well. Roll out the dough into a rectangle approximately 50 x 30 cm. Brush with the onion soup butter and roll up starting from the narrow side. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Cut the dough roll in half lengthwise and place both halves cut-side up on the baking tray. Let rise for another 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and bake the bread for approximately 25 minutes. Serve hot or cold with herb butter, or simply on its own with soup. The bread freezes and reheats.
