Minced meat with carrots

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg minced meat (half and half)
  • 1 kg carrot(s), fresh
  • 2 cups crème fraîche with herbs
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bread roll, dry
  • ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • some butter
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Place the minced meat, diced onion, and two eggs in a bowl. Soak the bread roll in water, squeeze out any excess water, and add it to the dish. Season with salt and pepper. Knead everything well. Peel the carrots and slice them into rounds. Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the carrot slices until al dente, then season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Place the minced meat in a large, shallow baking dish and press down to cover the bottom. Add the carrots on top. Mix the crème fraîche with the milk and pour it evenly over the dish. Bake in a preheated oven (convection oven) at 180°C for about 1 hour. Serve with potatoes, but it tastes delicious on its own too.
