Cabbage casserole with minced meat

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g white cabbage, alternatively Chinese cabbage
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 pack of parsley, frozen or a bunch of fresh, finely chopped
  • 700 g minced beef or mixed
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 6 tomatoes, very finely chopped (you can also use pizza tomatoes)
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g cheese, grated
  • 400 ml cream
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Wash the cabbage, quarter it, remove the stalk, and cut it into small pieces. Boil it in salted water, then drain well. Dice the onion and fry it with the minced meat. Add the tomatoes and simmer for a few minutes. Mix the cream with the cheese, eggs, and parsley. Season with salt, pepper, and a little nutmeg. Alternate the cabbage and minced meat in the casserole dish, swirling a little cream mixture between each layer. Top with the cream mixture and place the dish in the oven. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 40 minutes.
