Mini Fennel – The Small Edition Of The Tuber Vegetable

Mini fennel is a vegetable, spice, and medicinal plant that grows to a size of approx. 1.50 m. It has a white bulbous storage bulb with upright, thickened white to light green shoots. The green filamentous leaves (fennel green) are ribbed at the leaf disc.

Origin

South Africa, Spain.

Taste

The fennel bulb has a sweetish anise taste.

Use

Fennel recipes are extremely versatile. The vegetables can either be blanched or raw as part of a salad – e.g. B. Apples, pineapple, oranges and nuts. The tuber is also suitable cooked as a side dish with fish and meat, as well as for filling and gratinating. Finely chopped green fennel goes well with creamy dressings. The fennel seeds are used as a spice or infused into tea.

Storage

It is best to store fennel in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator. It stays there for about two weeks.
