Mom's Macaroni and Bacon Casserole

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g macaroni
  • 250 g bacon (approx.)
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 150 g cheese, grated
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Break the macaroni into three pieces and boil in salted water. Meanwhile, fry the bacon with finely chopped onion and garlic. Beat the egg with the cream and season with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Drain the macaroni and place it in a baking dish. Spread the cooked bacon and sauce over it and mix well. Sprinkle with cheese. Place in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes until the sauce has set and the cheese is melted and golden. I would always serve this calorie bomb with a fresh salad.
