Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 250 g butter or margarine
- 300 g powdered sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 2 orange(s), grated peel, or orange peel flavoring
- 1 pinch of cardamom
- 1 tsp. clove powder
- 1 pinch of cinnamon powder
- 300 g flour
- 50 g cornstarch
- ½ pack of baking powder
- e.g. chocolate (mocha beans)
- 1 tbsp jelly (blackcurrant)
- 2 tbsp orange juice
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Cream butter or margarine with 125g of powdered sugar and the sachet of vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, half the orange zest, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and cornstarch and knead into a smooth dough. Then form the dough into roughly 3cm-thick rolls and cut into 1cm-wide slices. Press a mocha bean into each slice, spread the dough over it with your hands, and bake at 170°C for about 15 to 20 minutes. After baking, make a glaze with 175g of powdered sugar, the remaining grated orange zest, the orange juice, and the blackcurrant jelly, and cover the cookies with it.
