Mr. Onion – Joe’s Onion Bun

- 300 g Wheat flour
- 150 g Spelled flour
- 5 g Dry yeast or wet yeast
- 90 ml Cold pressed olive oil
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
- 0,5 tsp Sugar
- 3 Pcs Fresh onions
- 200 ml Lukewarm water
- 1 Pcs Egg
- Fill a bowl with the flour, dry yeast, salt and paprika and stir well. Glaze the chopped onions in olive oil in a pan, caramelize with sugar and color reddish with a little paprika – remove from heat and let cool down a little. Now pour the water into the bowl, as well as the onions with the oil. Knead everything until you get a pleasant dough. Cover with a cloth and let rise for 1-2 hours. Then form rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and leave to rest. After about 10 minutes brush with egg white and bake in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
