Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 ml water or red wine
  • 500 ml red wine
  • 4 carnations
  • 1 cinnamon stick(s)
  • 1 lemon(s), zest
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 4 orange slices

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Simmer the cloves, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel in the water (or wine) on low heat for 5 minutes, then dissolve the sugar in it. Add the red wine and heat on high (do not boil!). Remove the spices before serving. Hang or place an orange slice in each glass for decoration.
