Mushroom – Cheese – Toast

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 250 g mushrooms
  • 60 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 400 ml milk
  • 120 g ham, cooked
  • 150 g cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 6 slices of toast
  • 1 onion(s), finely chopped
  • some salt
  • some pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash and trim the mushrooms thoroughly and slice them. Melt half of the butter and sauté the finely chopped onion until translucent. Add the mushrooms and fry until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan, add the flour, and sauté. Deglaze with milk. Let the mixture swell until a thick cream forms. Dice the ham and add it to the cream along with the mushrooms. Season to taste and fold in 2/3 of the grated cheese. Toast the bread and spread the cream thickly on top. Sprinkle with cheese and grill briefly under the preheated grill until the cheese has melted. Serve immediately.
