Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 3 eggs (depending on size)
- 500 g flour
- 80 g butter (melted)
- 200 g sugar
- 100 g marzipan
- 50 ml cream
- 50 ml rum
- 10 g baking powder
- 125 g almond(s), ground
- 1 pinch of salt
- some bitter almond flavor
- some powdered sugar
- some cinnamon
- vegetable fat
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Place the eggs, sugar, and marzipan in a bowl and beat until frothy. Add a little bitter almond flavoring and a pinch of salt. Pour in the cream, rum, and melted butter. Add the flour, baking powder, and almonds, and mix everything together to form a dough. Refrigerate the dough overnight. Then, using a tablespoon, scoop out some dough and roll it into small balls (about the size of a pigeon egg) by hand. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer to 170°C (340°F). Fry the balls/muzen until golden yellow. Drain on some kitchen paper. Dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon and serve.
