New potatoes with matjes and fresh herb quark

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 new potatoes
  • 6 herring fillets
  • 400 g quark
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 50 ml cream
  • 10 stalks of chives
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • ½ tsp paprika powder
  • some salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Drain the herring and let it drain. Peel the potatoes, leaving them whole, and boil them in salted water for about 20 to 25 minutes. Wash the chives and finely chop them. Peel the onion and finely dice them. In a bowl, thoroughly mix the quark, cream, paprika, and curry powder. Add the chives and onion, and season with salt and pepper. Drain the potatoes and let them steam briefly. Serve on plates with the quark and herring.
