Nutella hearts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g butter or margarine
  • 200g Nutella
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 300 g spelt flour, plain
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar baking powder (pure cream of tartar powder)
  • Currant jam
  • Dark chocolate coating
  • Sugar writing

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 10 minutes

Allow the butter or margarine to come to room temperature and then cream together with the Nutella. Add the vanilla sugar, egg, and salt. Mix the spelt flour with the cream of tartar and knead it into the Nutella mixture, spoonful by spoonful. Let the dough rest in a cool place for at least 1 hour—preferably overnight in the refrigerator. Knead the dough briefly again and roll it out. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out an even number of hearts. Bake at 190°C (convection oven) for about 10 minutes. Bring the blackcurrant jam to a boil briefly and then pass it through a fine sieve. Allow to cool. Melt the dark chocolate coating in a water bath. Spread each heart with the blackcurrant jelly and place it together with another heart (without jelly). Dip each heart halfway into the dark chocolate coating and decorate with icing according to your taste and imagination.
