Not only tasty at Christmas time!
Mix the Nutella with the softened butter. Add the vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt, then stir in the egg. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cinnamon and knead into the Nutella mixture. Place the dough in a tightly sealed Tupperware container in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the well-chilled dough thinly on a lightly floured surface and cut out stars of various sizes. Bake at 180°C for about 10 minutes. Every oven bakes differently! You’ll have to experiment a bit with the first baking sheet to find the optimal baking temperature and time. On my gas stove, 180°C is sufficient for me; on an electric stove, 200°C might be better. Carefully lift the baked stars from the tray with a spatula and place them on a wire rack to cool. If you like, you can cover the stars with light or dark chocolate or pipe delicate patterns around the edges with powdered sugar icing. Of course, other shapes can also be cut out from this dough. Tip: If you omit the cinnamon, these cookies are delicious beyond the Christmas season! The baking time applies per baking sheet. The resting time applies to the raw dough! The time required for cutting out the cookies will, of course, vary from cookie to cookie.
