Quick to prepare, healthy, and delicious. Grandma’s recipe.
Slowly toast the oats in a pan until they are golden brown and fragrant. If desired, you can also add a little butter to the pan for toasting. Once the oats are toasted, pour in the water and bring to a boil. Now add the stock cube (if you have fresh stock, you can use that instead of the water and stock cube). Let the mixture simmer over medium heat until the oats are nicely swollen (about 10 minutes). If desired, add some finely chopped parsley. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and Maggi. If you like, you can skim off some of the soup and let it cool. Then whisk an egg into it, remove the soup from the heat, and quickly stir it in. Do not let it boil again! The soup is now ready and can be served. This amount is enough for about 5-6 bowls.
